Later, Duan Hong Chen comes to Azure Sun Temple in order to enter the Divine Ascension Mirror World, meet with Tian Yan, and try to rid himself of sharing a body with Wu Kuang. Later, when the now 1st Order Emperor Realm Yang Kai gets into trouble with Star Soul Palace due to the killing of Tan Jun Hao, Wen Zi Shan would immediately make him a Guest Elder of Azure Sun Temple in order to protect him. When Yang Kai and the others eventually return safe and sound, Wen Zi Shan later ensures that Yang Kai receives a Tribulation Fruit before his departure. However, Grandma You would unsurprisingly betray and capture the elite disciples during Yang Kai's trip to the Divine Ascension Mirror World, and Wen Zi Shan is forced to personally punish her after Gao Xue Ting manages to forcibly expel her Divine Soul back to the phsyical world. In exchange for many of the Star Seals, Wen Zi Shan offers Yang Kai access to the Sect's Divine Ascension Mirror World as they also search for the Tribulation Fruit the latter was unable to acquire. When Yang Kai returns from Four Seasons Realm, Wen Zi Shan is surprised to see he carries so many Star Seals, which allow entry into the legendary Shattered Star Sea. Wen Zi Shan listens to Yang Kai's request for a Tribulation Fruit in order to save someone back in Maplewood City, and agrees to offer him a spot as part of the Sect's quota to enter Four Seasons Realm so that he may potentially acquire the fruit. Wen Zi Shan first meets Yang Kai when the latter comes to Azure Sun Temple carrying a token belonging to Bustling World Great Emperor.

Though Grandma You would make many antagonistic moves against his disciples over the years, none of them rose to the level where Wen Zi Shan had to seriously admonish her. After defeating Grandma You in a contest, Wen Zi Shan would force her, as the master of the Divine Ascension Mirror, to serve under him as he founded Azure Sun Temple with the Mirror as its foundation. In the past, Wen Zi Shan came across Grandma You and the incredible Divine Ascension Mirror. Later, it is revealed that he was actually once a disciple of the Bustling World Great Emperor. While the Psynergies' Jupiter alignment does not match the Venus and Mars innate alignments of the party members who normally have access to the full extent of the Ninja class series, in the latter two games it is possible for Jupiter Adepts with a specific setup of nine Set Venus and Mars Djinn to access the basic Ninja class series and therefore the basic Death Plunge version. This makes the Ninja quite adept at both powerfully striking foes and likely shutting down randomly encountered monsters in the process. Both stages of the Psynergy are especially valuable among physical-attack-based Psynergy in general for additionally featuring a chance to cause a secondary effect, which in this case is to apply Stun to the target. Death Plunge is introduced in the first game as the signature elemental physical attack Psynergy of the fairly hard-to-attain Ninja class series, and Death Leap is a version with a significantly higher added damage bonus that replaces it while the party member is in either of the Ninja's two upgraded class stages - the Disciple and the Master.
